Christine Wityshyn was born 1967 in Oberkirch, Germany. In 1988 she emigrated to Canada.
In 1989 she enrolled in a two year Fine Art Program at St.Lawrence College, Kingston, graduating with distinction in 1991. With fellow students she continued to exhibit her work in the Kingston area. In 1992 Christine moved to Alberta and continued her art, although the renovation of three homes took much of her time away from art.
In 1998 she joined the Allied Arts Council in the hope to get back into the Arts. This need was finally fulfilled when the current Art Club formed in the summer of 2000. She currently holds the secretary position of the Fort Art Club.
Christine also taught Acrylics for beginners through the City of Fort Saskatchewan.
Artist Statement: "I have enjoyed arts and crafts from an early age on. My family has always encouraged me to paint. I truly believe that there is beauty in everything. I enjoy painting in various media and therefore I am always learning new techniques. I’m not only interested in painting but also in photography and printmaking."
